Finance OS keeps a person's books, documents and tax returns. An AI app connects to one person's account, is approved by that person once in their browser, and then works through Finance OS tools: reading the books and evidence, categorizing and posting bank activity, drafting tax forms and filing packages, and asking the owner only for facts they alone know. Signing, filing, paying and linking a bank always stay with the owner, on this website.
Early access — start here
Finance OS is in early access. You need an approved account before you can connect an AI. Request early access first; we will invite you when your account is ready.
Request access on the waitlist and wait for your invite.
Add Finance OS to Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor using the connector below.
Approve once in your browser, then say “do my books” in chat.
Supported today: one-click connectors for Claude, Cursor, and VS Code; ChatGPT via manual MCP paste; CLI via npm i -g finance-os. Grok has no supported connector path yet.
Connect your AI agent
Pick the app you use. Each one can connect up to three ways: one click, the Finance OS address, or the command-line tool. Whichever you choose, you approve one screen here and can revoke it below at any time.
Connector
The fastest way: Claude opens with Finance OS filled in. You confirm, then approve one screen here.
Claude shows the name and address already filled in. Check the address is www.finance.fyi and choose Add.
Choose Connect. Your browser opens the Finance OS approval screen; approve it.
In a chat, turn the Finance OS connector on and say “check what is next in Finance OS”.
MCP
Give your agent the Finance OS tools for books, documents and tax returns.
Authentication
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Finance OS, and paste this address.
CLI
For an agent that can run commands: install the Finance OS command-line tool and the skill that teaches your agent how to use it.
Install the Finance OS command-line tool.
Sign in (opens your browser for one approval).
Install the skill that teaches your agent to use it.
On a remote machine with no browser, the agent runs finance-os login --start, gives you a sign-in link, and finishes with the address your browser ends on. With an API key instead, set FINANCE_OS_AGENT_TOKEN and skip the sign-in.
Once connected, an agent does its work through these tools, not by driving this website. The website is for what only you can do: passkeys, linking a bank, signing and filing.
What a connected agent can do
Read the owner's complete books, documents, filings, forms and open work.
Categorize and post bank activity, draft journals, and prepare returns and filing packages.
Queue questions for the owner about facts only they know, and relay the owner's exact answer.
What it cannot do
Sign, attest, transmit a return, pay, or link a bank. Those are owner-only and enforced in the database.
Move money. Finance OS never transfers funds.
Reach credentials, platform secrets, or another owner's records.
Connection details & developer resources
How the connection works
Standard MCP authorization: OAuth 2.0 with PKCE and dynamic client registration, discovered from https://www.finance.fyi/api/mcp.
One approval screen names the app and its exact permissions. Access credentials are short-lived and renew themselves; the owner can revoke any connection under Settings → Authorized agents.
Every tool call is checked again on the server: ownership, permissions, and who has to say yes.
